0. READING THE TAROT

1. Man
2. Woman
3. Ruled by love
4. Then, but not now.
5. Once joined by the church,
6. Lovers before; after;
7. Triumphantly eager with
8. A love as strong as any. Then
9. As times' sands trickled ever downward
10. Blind chance opened her wounds of doubt
11. And made payments for mistakes without balance.
12. Caught, pinned to the still tree for an ageless moment.
13. Life, of course, goes on. And so, until life stops dead
14. Both of us will vacillate twixt pole and pole; roaming, searching,
15. Although chained (as if by magic cunning) to the devil's throne;
16. So that as we babble on, harmony and shared meaning destroyed,
17. We go still with one another and shine from each other's heart of hearts.
18. To gaze at the moon and to think of what's to come, with or without regrets;
19. To accept what is, to bask in the glory of our own day-to-day being;
20. As one day things come to ends, there'll be yet another one, another love to love.
21. That's the way of worldly life; the life that goes on forever. Circles within circles.
